We would like to say a huge thank you to the student council for our end of year surprise ๐The boys started their day in the halla where we had an inflatable obstacle course and bouncy castle. Later in the day the student council arrived with pizza ๐ What a treat!

The boys made these very special keyrings this week. We traced their hands onto special paper and they wrote their names. The boys then chose a colour and coloured them in. The paper was then placed in the oven for 2 minutes and it shrunk down to the perfect keyring size. We hope you like them ๐โ๐ผ
This past week we have been learning all about ladybirds ๐ The boys enjoyed learning facts about ladybirds and their life cycle. They made their own ladybirds and even went on a ladybird hunt. ๐๐
What an exciting day! We travelled to Pairc Uรญ Caoimh to cheer on our schools hurling team. We would like to say a huge well done and congratulations to the team on their win! ๐
Today we said goodbye to Edel who has been on placement in our class for the past few weeks. Edel has been a huge support to us all and we will miss her very much! ๐๐

Our final Aistear topic this year was birthdays! The boys had a fun time playing in our party role play area, making playdough/Lego birthday cakes and creating cool birthday cards in the art area ๐ฅณ๐๐
The boys worked so hard to achieve this reward over the past few weeks! ๐๐ฆ
Here are some pictures from our sports day today! The boys played games, did obstacle courses and played soccer matches. โฝ๏ธ They were the best supporters at the teachers vs 6th class match! ๐ We ended the day with delicious 99s ๐ฆ
What a fantastic day Junior Infants had at Rumleys farm. The boys got to pet lots of different animals ๐ฐ๐ถ They also got to take a trip around the farm on a tractor and visit a milking parlour ๐ ๐There weโre plenty of playgrounds, obstacle courses and go karts to keep us busy too! ๐
We had the best day today at our teddy bear picnic! ๐งธ๐

Junior infants would like to say a huge thank you to those at Bishopstown GAA for hosting us the past 2 weeks. The boys had so much fun practicing GAA skills and playing fun games. ๐๐
We came back to school today and to celebrate finishing our Aistear topic of the supermarket, the boys got to go shopping in Ms. Marronโs class for Callipoโs ๐ The other junior infants then came across to us and we got to be the shopkeepers. A great end to a great day. Have a lovely week off everyone! ๐

This months Aistear theme looked at the supermarket. It linked in excellent with our gaeilge theme ag siopadoireacht and our maths theme of money ๐ถ The boys had great fun being shopkeepers and customers in our Tesco role play and small worlds areas. We also had excellent supermarkets built out of Lego in our construction area. We played shopping games in the puzzle area and the boys cut and stuck their shopping into their trolleys in the art area ๐ A brilliant theme overall! ๐

Our theme for Aistear the past few weeks has been the farm. The boys had great fun learning all about the animals on the farm and all of the jobs that the farmers do.๐ง๐ผโ๐พ
They painted different animals in the art area and played with jigsaws in the puzzle area. Our small world area seen the boys taking care of the animals and the boys made fabulous farms in the construction area. Our role play area was also a big hit! ๐ด๐
This theme has made us super excited for our school tour in June ๐ท๐ฎ

Lauryn had her last day with us in Junior infants today. Lauryn has been with us since January and has been such a huge help to both myself and all of the boys! We wish her all the best with the rest of her studies in UCC and we will miss her so much ๐ฅฐโค๏ธ
On Fridays we take a break from our workbooks and play some maths games! They are a huge hit each week ๐

We have been doing plenty of Easter activities all this week. Here are some photos from our Easter egg hunt, making our easter hats and our performance of a song and poem for Ms. Marronโs Junior infants ๐ฅฐ
We also used clay for the first time and made beautiful clay pots to carry our delicious Easter eggs in!

Our theme in Aistear for the month of March was houses and homes, we had great fun playing house in the role play area and building different types of homes in the construction area. The boys practiced washing the dishes in the water area and in the art area they cut and glued houses together. They also used watercolour paints to paint their own houses. This was a great topic and the boys really enjoyed it ๐ก๐
We took full advantage of the good weather today and went outside with some chalk. The boys had a great time writing and drawing out in the yard ๐
