We had a busy September in second class. Here is just a snippet of what we did.

We had Roald Dahl Day where we learned about his life and all his achievement.
We also had Dot Day, we used the book The Dot as inspiration before we created our artwork - make your dot and see where it takes you.

In SESE, we learned about where we come from and about the people in our community who help us. The children created lovely street maps of Dunmore.

In art, we created a back to school Schoolbag Monster which we really enjoyed :)

We have also started our autumn theme. The children have brought in lovely bits for our nature table which inspired us to created some autumn trees.

We had great fun completing some hands-on, active maths during maths week, e.g., completing maths trails (indoor & out) to playing Kahoot quizzes.

Feel and Draw Fun!!!

SPHE & Drama Integration:

We had fun acting out some family scenarios. We choose things that we learn from our families, e.g.,

riding a bike:     washing dishes:    showing good manners in a restaurant:

babysitting:                        cleaning:                                         helping the elderly

Our topic in Social Personal Health Education (SPHE), since starting back to school, was family. We explored many aspects around the topic, e.g., how all families are special and unique and our place within our family.

We learned all about hibernation and the changes in nature. We went on a nature trail to collect some leaves to complete some leaf rubbings.

Integrating Art & Science - investigating how to mix our primary colours to create new secondary colours:
