Yes. If you do not validate / verify your mobile number, you will not be able to receive app notifications to your phone. Once your mobile number is validated, you will receive app notifications.

If you have already installed the app on your phone, you can verify your mobile number by:

(If you are already signed into the app, you need to tap "Menu", then tap either "Switch account" or "Add school/account".)

Tap on "Login Settings" on the bottom right hand corner of the app sign-in screen

In Login Settings, tap "Personal device" and tap the option "Keep me signed in" or "Keep me signed in via biometric unlock" as appropriate.

Sign into the app and you will see a screen to verify our mobile number. Type your number here and tap "Send code".

You will then receive a text message with a verification code. Enter the verification code and tap "Verify".

Make sure that you will receive notifications to your phone by checking that your phone is pin / password / pattern locked (this is a security feature). Also make sure that you have not switched off notifications for the Aladdin app or notifications on your phone.
