What is Aladdin Connect?

A secure app that helps schools and families stay connected.

Over 2,900 Irish primary schools use Aladdin for admin, and many also use Aladdin Connect to keep parents informed and involved. Once invited by your school, you'll be able to log in and access messages, attendance, homework, report cards, and other important updates — all in one place. You can use Aladdin Connect from your smartphone or through a web browser. The app is free to download, and access is protected by a secure login, provided by your school.

What can I use it for?

With Aladdin Connect, depending on what your school has enabled, you can:

How do I get started?

Your school will send you an invitation with a secure access code. Once you've registered, you can log in through the app or on any device with an internet connection.

1. Read the Information Letter

Before Aladdin Connect is launched, your school will send you a letter explaining what the service is and how it works.
This is your opportunity to update any contact details or talk through family situations with your school — including situations involving stepparents, blended families, or legal arrangements. If needed, your school can disable features like family sharing to restrict access.

2. Receive Your Unique Registration Link

After the letter, you'll receive a text or email with your own registration link.
Each parent or guardian receives a separate link that connects to their personal account. These links are unique and cannot be shared with other parents, even within the same family or school.

3. Register and Set Your Password

Click the link in your message to begin registration.
You'll create a password during setup, which — along with your email — will be used to securely access Aladdin Connect.

4. Download the App

Once you've registered, you'll receive an email with links to download the Aladdin Connect app.
While optional, the app makes it easier to receive instant message alerts from your school. To enable notifications, you'll need to verify your mobile phone number.

Important to Know

Each parent or guardian must register using their own unique link.
During registration, you will be asked to confirm your child's name and DOB, this must match what your school has on file exactly.
Your school controls what information is visible and who can access it.
If you have multiple children in one school, they will all appear under one login.
If contact sharing is enabled, you'll have full control over your privacy settings.
Schools control what features and information are shared through Connect.

Security, Privacy & Data Protection

At Aladdin, the safety of your information — and your child's — is our top priority.

We use modern, trusted technologies to ensure that all data shared through Aladdin Connect is stored and transmitted securely, and handled in strict compliance with Irish and European data protection laws.

How your data is protected

All information is encrypted using 128-bit SSL during transfer between your device and Aladdin or Google.
All data is fully encrypted at rest in Google's secure data centres.
Aladdin is scanned daily for security vulnerabilities.
Aladdin and Google's systems are audited to global security standards, including ISO 27001, ISO 27017, and ISO 27018.
Both Aladdin and Google follow rigorous international standards for data handling.
Parents should take care not to share passwords and always protect their login details.

More about sharing and privacy

Parents only have access to their own personal contact details in Aladdin Connect.
Before Connect is launched, schools will contact all parents to give time for any confidential discussions — especially in cases of separated parents, stepparents, guardianship, or other legal arrangements.
If necessary, the school can adjust or block family sharing access. For example, if you don't want another parent to view financial or contact information, the school can disable sharing. In that case, those details will be hidden from both parents.

If your school allows a class contact details sharing option, parents have full control over the contact information that is shared with other parents (phone number, email address, etc).

When you log in for the first time, if your child's school has decided to allow the class list sharing option, privacy options are applicable to sharing your contact information with other parents in your child's class. By default, no information is shared on the class list other than the first name of your child. When you log in for the first time you will be presented with your privacy options, however these can be updated at any time by clicking on your "Account" icon and then on the "Privacy" tab. Then you will be presented with your privacy options - these options dictate what information you are happy to share with other parents within your child's class.

You will only see information about other children in your child's class if you have also chosen to share that particular information, for example, if you do not wish your email address to be shared, then you will also not be able to see the email address of parents who have opted to share their email. Parents can choose to share as much or as little information as they wish as per the options available. If a parent does not share any information, your child's first name will appear on the class list for other parents to see, but not any other information.
